Income Generation
Income Generation
Income Generation or Microcredit is the extension of very small loans (microloans) which are non-interest based to poor entrepreneurs that are not considered bankable and to others living in poverty. These individuals lack collateral, steady employment, and verifiable credit history and therefore cannot meet even the most minimal qualifications to gain access to traditional credit.
Microcredit is a financial innovation where it has successfully enabled extremely impoverished people to engage in self-employment projects that allow them to generate an income and, in many cases, begin to build wealth and exit poverty.
Rural-Urban Charitable Association (RUCA) provides those entrepreneurs with a lump sum of money after studying their projects and being approved by a group of consultants.
For a period of 36 months, the beneficiary has to pay back the amount loaned to him/her on a monthly installment without incurring any extra charges or interest on top. Throughout the loan period and after, Rural Urban Charitable Association (RUCA) monitors the projects to make sure that it is successful and the beneficiary is getting out the most of the money loaned to him/her, this money gained back can then be reinvested into the project or even other projects. During the rainy season, the association provides fertilizer to the farmers and the beneficiary has to pay at the end of the harvest season.
